After you have some music playing, you can learn about the Now Playing feature in Media Player. Playing a VideoVideo files come from all kinds of sources. Some are simply streaming videothat comes from the Internet and you watch in Windows Media Player. As arule, you can t save these as files. You can only watch them. Beyond streamingvideo, there are all sorts of videos stored in files and all sorts of ways to createthem. People can e-mail them to you. People can send them to you on a CD orother disk. You can download videos (in files) from many Web sites and file- sharing networks, such as Gnutella. There s even a sample video that comeswith Windows XP that you can play around with. In Internet Explorer, the best and quickest way to download a video usually not to open it at all, but rather to right-click and choose Save TargetAs. See Chapter 10 for details. Icons for video files don t look much different from other icons. But if you re inThumbnails view, MPEG and .wmv movies will show the first frame of thevideo, as in the examples shown in Figure 16-10.
