Figure 12-15:Contacts displayed and sorted into groupsIf you copy a contact to a group, but later change your mind, there are a cou- ple of ways to deal with the problem. First, make sure you can see all membersof the group in which the contact is currently stored. Then right-click the con- tact s icon within the group. Since you re not in the All Contacts list, you ll seea couple of other options that aren t availing in that list: .Move Contact To:To move the contact from the current group toanother, click this option, and click the group to which you want tomove the contact. .Remove Contact from Group:To remove the contact from the cur- rent group, click this option. The contact will remain in All Contactsand in any other groups to which the contact is a member. Creating GroupsYou re not limited to the few sample groups that first appear in WindowsMessenger. You can create whatever groups you wish. To create a new group, click Add a Groupunder I want to…, or choose Tools.Manage Groups.Adda Group from Windows Messenger s menu bar. A group named New Groupappears, with its name selected. Type a new name, and press Enter. If you make a mistake, right-click the group name and choose Rename Group. Edit the name, or type a new name. Then press Enter. Once you ve created a group, you can use the Copy Contact Toand MoveContact Tooptions described previously to add contacts to your new group.
