In the Customize Notificationsdialog box that opens, you can click on any icon s name; then choose one ofthe following options (shown in Figure 24-13) to decide how to show the icon: .Hide when inactive:This is the normal behavior for Notification-Areaicons, where they re visible only when the process the icon representsis running. .Always hide:Keeps the icon from ever showing, even when theprocess is running. .Always Show:Ensures that the icon is always visible, whether itscorresponding process is running or not. The Restore Defaults button changes all icons in the list to their originaldefault settings, as shipped with Windows XP.
